What’s new: stock in metres and kilograms, goods receipt, till shifts

What’s new: stock in metres and kilograms, goods receipt, till shifts

Here is what has changed in ReactDesk since our August update. Everything below is available now, including on the free trial.

Stock in metres, kilograms and litres

Not everything is sold by the piece. Each item in Inventory now has a unit — pieces, metres, kilograms or litres — and its quantity can have up to three decimal places: 2.5 m of cable, 0.75 kg, 1.2 l. Stock, sales, repairs, reports and receipts all count in that unit, and e-invoices carry the unit of each line.

Goods receipt: a delivery note updates the stock

When a supplier’s delivery arrives, open Goods receipt and scan or type the delivery note number, then the items. Posting the note adds the goods to stock and e-mails the clients whose ordered parts have come in. You can attach the supplier’s documents to the note and print labels for the goods you received.

Box check: count a shelf with your phone

Box check is for stocktaking one shelf or box at a time. Scan each item — a phone camera works as the scanner — enter the quantity you count, and the stock is corrected. Anything you do not find can be set to zero in one step, and every box shows when it was last checked.

Standard barcodes on labels

Labels now carry standard Code 128, EAN or UPC barcodes, which ordinary barcode scanners read.

Orders: a short number to quote

Every order now has its own short number, such as P-7K4M2. It is printed on the order’s label and appears in the e-mails the client receives, and you can search for it with or without the P-. It leaves out characters that are easy to confuse over the phone, such as 0 and O or 1 and I.

At the till, an order can be paid for by its number. Any prepayment is taken off on its own line, so the client pays only what is left.

Shifts at the till: X and Z reports

If a till is registered in ReactDesk as a fiscal device, every sale now belongs to a shift. Open the shift at the start of the day with the cash in the drawer, record pay-ins and pay-outs, print an X report during the day and close the day with a Z report, which is written to the journal.

POS reports show register sales for any period by cashier, payment method and VAT rate, with a CSV download for your accountant. POS reconciliation checks each shift to the cent against the journal and the payments received. A cashier can be limited to the till alone, working in full-screen mode.

Business clients: people, cards and one monthly bill

For business clients who buy on account, add the people who work there and give each of them their own QR card. When a card is scanned at the till, the sale goes on the firm’s account and records who was at the counter, and a repair records which of the firm’s people brought the device in. At the end of the month the firm gets one bill, with its trade discount if you have agreed one, sent as a PDF to the people who pay it.

My day and notifications

My day lists your jobs for today in time order, with unplanned work beside them; drag a job onto an hour and it becomes yours. A manager can plan the whole team’s day the same way. When a job is given to someone, they get a notification on the bell and an e-mail, so it reaches them even when their phone is locked.

Roles that read like job titles

Every role in Team now has a short description of what it may do. On the Pro plan you can start from ready-made roles such as cashier, technician, warehouse or accountant, or create your own and decide, section by section, whether a person may view, create, edit, delete, export or approve.

All of it in 11 languages, with a guided tour

Every screen of the app is now translated into all 11 languages, including counts with the right word form for each language and country names in your own language. A new guided tour walks each person through the screens their role can open; you can restart it at any time from the ? button.

All of this is available now, including on the free trial. Inventory, goods receipt, box check and orders are part of the Pro plan.
